So here it comes, the ACC opener against a team that I will fail to recognize as really part of the ACC for another, oh, six year or so. At least in basketball. But anyway, it's an ACC game, and Seth Greenberg's team will be excited to play. Rumor has it that Greenberg has had his team practicing at least five minutes every practice so far just game-planning for the Tar Heels. Too bad it won't help...
I'm not going to say we're going to win by at least fifteen, I'm just saying....
1) Carlos Dixon and Zabian Dowdell will be the two Hokie names that you hear most on Sunday. Dixon is averaging just over 15 ppg and is 6'7. Dowdell is a 2-guard scoring about 13 a game.
2) Depth down low. The Hokies' starting center is 6'11, but averages only 10 minutes a game. The next-tallest starter is Dixon at 6'7. Sean, Marvin, Jawad, and even David could all have big games Sunday.
3) Running - The Tar Heels are going to run this team like nothing the Hokies have seen so far. The best VTech has faced in the early part of the season is St. John's, to whom they lost by ten.
4) Raymond might sit more than usual again Sunday. Apparently he's wearing a hard cast on his wrist around campus and it is being taped just prior to games. But he's going to tear up Jamon Gordon.
