Okay, I was confident, but I wasn't this confident.  Geez, Louise!  Sean and Jawad had 17 apiece and missed 3 shots between them.  Perhaps the best part is that Rashad only had 3 points himself.  We beat a team by 34 and our best scorer only had 3 points.  Also - Raymond had 3 assists to 7 turnovers - not a good stat - but we got good play all around, and #2 had 15 points himself.
Just checking the box score - our starters were 20-29 from the field, and the entire team only missed 17 shots.  I thought that the game looked a lot sloppier than that on TV.  I see 17 assists to 22 turnovers overall, but I see Quentin Thomas with 2 to 1.  12 points, 6 rebounds, and a blocked shot for Marvelous Marvin.  He may have the quickest dunk motion I have ever seen...truly explosive.

What did you take away from this game?  Definitely a statement was made to Virginia Tech - when they were close/leading mid-first half, the Tar Heels just made their minds up to win and win big.  Last year's team might have won this game, but it would have been a lot closer.

Quick turnaround for the Heels as they face a quality Vermont team at home Tuesday.  We'll preview that game in the coming days.

Around the ACC, Georgia Tech was surprised - that game came on too late so I haven't had a chance to really review what went wrong for the Jackets and right for Gonzaga.

I do know that Julius Hodge could have been a hero by actually giving up the ball on the last possession for the N.C. State Wolfpack.  He could have been the decoy as three Washington Huskies crashed on him.  Alas, I won't lose any sleep over State's loss.

FSU-Maryland was a lot closer than expected.
