The worst part of Saturday's game wasn't losing to Miami; it was leading throughout the first half and losing. It was the hope the Heels gave us fans in the first half, then the subsequent collapse.

Don't tease me like that.

I think I'd rather lose 34-0 than lead 16-7 and lose 34-16. Sure, there were good things that could be taken from Saturday's game. The defense once again was the strongpoint.

As I said in my guest blog entry for Eagle in Atlanta, the Tar Heel defense is doing a fine job for the most part this season. The problem is, the offense can't stay on the field. The defense, fatigued, wears down and makes mistake.

This can't continue to happen. We only gave up two scores to Wisconsin, a high-powered offense. If we had any kind of answer on the offensive side ourselves, we win that game.

Two (2) things have to happen for the Heels to have a chance.
1) The wide receivers have to catch passes. I don't know how to stress this enough. Isn't a wide receiver supposed to receive?

2) The receivers have to be able to set up the run. You can't fool anyone with the run if they know you can't pass.

Oh yeah. Ronnie McGill has to stay hydrated, and stay in the game. He is the franchise.

The defense will be fine if they're able to rest. If we score, we can win. But we have to score. With the offense.

Back to basketball - the Bobcats are on.
