I'll be honest: I haven't watch Boston College football too much this season. In fact, I've seen very little.
I am not at all qualified to make a prediction for Saturday's game, but I will anyway.
I know this BC team is probably better than the one that beat Carolina in last year's Tire Bowl.
I know that this year's Tar Heels have not proven to be better offensively than the team that lost to BC in December.
But I do know how John Bunting's teams respond to adversity. They win.
Heels by six, 27-21.

Tonight I saw the first Carolina basketball since the national championship game in April. The young Tar Heels took on the Fayetteville State Broncos in an exhibition matchup.
I don't know how much you can take away as far as analysis from a game against a Division II CIAA opponent, but I enjoyed watching the Heels nonetheless. It really strikes you how young this team is when you see the on the floor. Looking over rosters and NBA defections is one thing, but actually seeing the team in action is when it really hits you: this is a completely different team. I was impressed with the leadership shown by David Noel and Reyshawn Terry tonight. It is clear that this is their team. I will say this now and I'm sure again soon: Tyler Hansbrough is going to be a fan-favorite. The intensity and emotion with which he plays the game is incredible to watch. He is a Tar Heel if there has ever been one. Quentin Thomas is going to be a quiet leader. In fact, it's going to take him a little while to become the floor leader he will ultimately need to become. That's to be expected, though, as he inherits the reins from one of the all-time greats. Starters tonight were Thomas, Wes Miller, Terry, Noel and Hansbrough. The Heels take on Catawba next Saturday, and perhaps we'll get a better look. For now, two questions: Is it pronounced Bobby Fra-zor or Bobby Fray-sure? Is it pronounced Marcus Gin-yerd or Marcus Gin-YARD? Anyone know? |
