Rashad McCants has been cleared to practice and will probably see some action this weekend during the ACC Tournament. This is great news. Every talking head in the world has been saying the Heels have no chance to win the national championship without Rashad. The team has been playing pretty well without him, but just knowing he’s available should give them an extra boost of confidence.
Tournament play starts tomorrow, and there are some really good games. Maryland/Clemson at noon, N.C. State/FSU at 2, and Miami/Virginia at 7. These are the ‘play-in’ games!
Here’s an article about something most of us knew: Jackie Manuel was the first to buy in to Coach Williams’ system. Nicely written. Click here if you don’t want to register.
Another thing about Jackie – He and Shelden Williams got ten votes each for the All-ACC Defensive Team. Nice work. This means more than the media team, as it is voted on by people who actually watch the games: the coaches (or their Sports Information Directors).
Once again, remember HeelsBlog is looking for contributors: students, fans that run into former players, people that hear things, drop me a line using the Contact link above. Is Scott Cherry your insurance agent? Do you buy your hats from Rasheed Wallace? I want to know!
That’s all for me tonight. Enjoy the tournament.
