This from Laura in St. Louis:

Thank you, Tar Heels

To the folks who said that Carolina didn't have heart.

That Carolina didn't play as a team.

That Carolina plays no defense.

And especially to the Illinois guy walking into the stadium before the game who said, "It's about quality, not quantity."

I have one reply:

75--70

National Champions.

I still can't believe I was there, honestly.

I wish you could have heard how loud it was when Illinois was coming back into the game during the 2nd half. Carolina didn't let it phase them and held on for the victory.

My favorite part? A championship for those guys that played through the 8-20 season and especially for Susan-Lucci-no-more Roy Williams. How awesome that he came home for his first national title!

I'm exhausted and excited and I think I have bruises on thighs from where my elbows were digging in the entire game (I took up a prayer-like position during the 1st half and kept it up since it seemed to be helping). Tonight, I go to sleep a happy girl.

Thanks, Heels. That was incredible.
