The Courier-Journal out of Louisville, Ky. offers a profile on Tyler Hansbrough that includes this interesting quote from Tim Watts of Rivals.com:

"He's such a high-energy kid. He'll do a lot of things the prettier kids won't do. He'll throw his body in there and bang."

Is that a knock on Tyler's looks or a compliment to his game?  Made me chuckle, anyway.

Veteran writer Eddy Landreth of the Chapel Hill news writes a piece about the state of UNC athletics to this point, and how things may be disappointing on the football field and basketball court this fall.

So, the best advice for Carolina fans is enjoy the moment. Don't let a day pass when you don't smile and think about everything the basketball team did because those memories may be about all you get for a while.

He may be right. In fact, he's probably right. But that's why they play the games, isn't it?

Brendan Haywood and Antawn Jamison will have their hands full against Shaquille O'Neal and the Miami Heat in the second round of the NBA Playoffs. Shaq's mad about not winning the MVP (although Steve Nash deservedly won it). Brendan's going to have to use that body of his, and Antawn needs to keep hitting those step-out jumpers. Here's to our former Tar Heels...

Trivia of the day: Where did Steve Nash play his college ball? I know you've shaken your first and mumbled the name of his alma mater sometime in the last few months.

Clockin' out. Enjoy your Mother's Day.
