Yes, that was freshman Tyler Hansbrough that dropped 40 points on Georgia Tech last night. Forty. In an ACC game.
The first 23 points were kind of quiet. In fact, I didn't realize he had so many. The Tar Heels were down in the first half, and they flashed on the screen how many points Tyler had (I believe it was 17 at the time). Everyone was kind of in disbelief that he had that much that early, but when you think about it, he was pretty much the only one scoring at the time.
I was very impressed with this young team's ability to come back against a Georgia Tech team that was shooting the lights out in the first half.
Don't talk to me about foul disparity - Tech was absolutely not taking it inside - they were living and dying on the perimeter (except for Dickey).
Perhaps the most impressive thing about Tyler's 40 is that they weren't forced. He was just going to work.
Jimmy Buffett reference, anyone?
